Find your signature scent: Everything about using perfume

Perfume is more than just a fragrance; it's a personal signature. But how do you ensure your favorite scent lasts all day and makes an impact in the right way? Here are some tips to get the most out of your perfume.

1. The right places to spray

Many people spray perfume on their clothing, but for the best effect, it's better to apply it to your skin. Focus on 'pulse points', the warmer areas of your body where your heartbeat is palpable. Think of your wrists, neck, behind your ears, in the creases of your elbows, and even behind your knees. The heat in these areas activates the scent and disperses it subtly throughout the day.

Tip: Do not rub the fragrance after applying. This 'breaks' the perfume's molecules and causes the scent to fade faster. Let it absorb naturally.

2. Hydrate your skin

The longevity of a perfume depends heavily on your skin type. Fragrance evaporates much faster on dry skin. To prevent this, it's best to first apply an unscented body lotion or petroleum jelly to the areas where you want to spray the perfume. Hydrated skin holds onto the scent for much longer.

3. Store your perfume correctly

Your perfume bottle might look beautiful on the bathroom counter, but heat, light, and humidity are the greatest enemies of perfume. Store your fragrances in a cool, dark place, such as a bedroom closet or a drawer. This way, the fragrance maintains its strength and composition for much longer.

4. How much is enough?

Less is more. Two to three sprays are usually sufficient for most perfumes. The goal is for the scent to be subtle and invite people to come closer, not to overwhelm them. Start with a small amount and adjust the dose based on the strength of the perfume.

By following these simple tips, you ensure that your perfume performs optimally and stays with you throughout the day. Experiment with different scents to discover which one suits you best and reflects your personality.
